Good at converting security cam video

My cheap home security camera system outputs AVI’s in an old format that none of my computers would reconize. This program was able to read it and convert it to a MOV that plays fine on everything.
One thing to be aware of is that the stautus bar it shows when converting doesn’t really work. It says “calculating” with zero progress and then suddenly it’s done at 100% progress. Also it took about 10-15 minutes to convert a five minute clip. I was starting to think that the program was hung up on the calculating screen, but it wasn’t… that’s apperantly just what it does when it’s actually doing the conversion.
